“your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded” error message?

I just received a CD-ROM textbook for school, and I tried opening it with Internet Explorer. The disc opens, but once I click on a link in the “eBook,” this message appears:
“Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded”
-I’ve tried changing IE settings to lower security levels.
-The program works on Firefox, but I’m looking for a way to use it on IE.
Any suggestions? thanks!
The CD was brand new, out of the package, so I don’t think it would have a virus…?

the cd may have a virus
put your security on pause then download this will let you load it into your PC but beware!!!!!!!!!!!! you may get what you don`t want your PC may crash
You may have to down grade the security settings. I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at and
