can you install programs on an ipod?

i’m planning to buy an ipod cause my phone is running out of memory. but i still want to have programs like worldclock, dictionary and ebook reader like i have on my 6680. And i only want to bring one gadget… so can i install programs like that on an ipod or should i buy a nokia music phone instead?
The Ipod basically is a flash disc that can provide u about 20 or 500gbs(I dont know exactly how much it can take) which will enable u to store more songs than u can in ur mobile & u can add programs in it but u cant really use them in ur Ipod buy Iphone instead
