I have a my ebook external hard drive as well that hooks up to my usb. So I was woundering since my hard drive is failing can I move everything from the hard drive thats failing to my ebook hard drive??? Or even can I jus load windows and then my programs and what not on my ebook hard drive?? And run my system from my external hard drive??? I have more than enough memory on there.

dont really understand all your questions……….
1. yes if you sure your hard drive is failing, quickly transfer all the files to another external hard drive or your ebook hard drive (if it can fit), i suggest you buy another external hard drive.
2. for loading windows from hard drive, yes it’s possible with certain settings.
3. Try to write the questions more systematic next time.
The “click of death” means you have limited time to transfer all your data files to your external drive. Do it now.
It’s possible to install your OS on an external drive, if your hardware is new enough to recognize it. But it’s a complicated process and you don’t fix the problem that way. Just buy a new hard drive for you ebook and reinstall everything. Then transfer your data files back over from your external drive.
If your hard drive is failing, you need to do something soon. I would attempt a disk image written to your external drive. The Acronis package is quite good at this. If you have a Maxtor or Seagate drive you can use Disk Wizard from Seagate to do this as well as it is a slightly crippled version from Acronis.
Good luck.
