You don’t need to write an ebook.
They print on demand. This way you can set your price.

Depends how many people buy it, are they interested in the subject of the book, who is it by, etc.

It depends on how good your book is, the research put into the subject, whether you have anything different from others on the same subject, whether or not there is a market for it, interest in the subject, how much time you spend promoting your e-book, how much you yourself spend having it published & how many people are willing to buy or download it at the price you set.

Unfortunately, probably not much. Amazon is a good place to sell books and ebooks, but it is still up to you to drive the demand. Amazon does not sell a high volume of ebooks and edocs.
If you are accepted as an ebook publisher, you set the price and you get 45% of that price. Amazon gets 55%. That is a fairly typical percentage for book wholesalers, and it matches the terms of the Amazon Advantage program for print books.
Another option might be to create an ebook or course that you sell from your own Web site. For example, create videos using a screen capture program such as Camtasia and show people how to do things in PHP. Many people learn better by seeing and hearing what to do, rather than just reading it on a page or screen. Something like this could go for a premium price, especially if you do not have a lot of competition.
