I can guarantee you, once it’s online, you might get paid for the first one, but then you’ll never be paid again. If you want to be safe about it, look into self-publishing.
And you do need special software for an e-book, you need to convert word files into PDF files, look into Adobe Acrobat
U can use word to compose/edit whatever your topic of interest is about but u’ll still need special software like adobe acrobat to convert your word document into pdf format, popularly known as ebooks.
I just downloaded a cool ebook on everything about publishing an ebook.
As for advertising, charging, making deliveries e.t.c. the info is all in this ebook
Here’s the link to download it(IT’S FREE):
U’ll need adobe reader to view it if u dont already have it on ur pc. Here’s the link for the FREE adobe pdf reader:

Whilst there are a number of formats to publish ebooks in the two most popular are Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format and Executable Files (EXE).
Increasingaly PDFs are gaining popularity due to the way that:
1) They can be read on Macs or PCs
2) The ebook looks the same no matter what machine it is being read on
3) It makes printing out the ebook easy
4) It is quick and easy to produce PDFs
A range of free software is available that will enable you to turn a plain text or Word document into a PDF ebook.
Do a quick search for “free PDF creator” on Yahoo to find some examples. I personally use Open Office which is free and allows you to save your documents as PDFs.
The easiest way then to sell your ebook is to set up a simple website that tells people about your ebook, then allows them to purchase via credit card if they are interested.
Your credit card processing account will authorize their payment and if successful will then allow them to access your “download page” on your website so your customers can instantly download their purchase.
If their card doesn’t go through then they never gain access to the download page.
Your credit card processor will post you a check on a regular basis for your takings making doing business this way very easy and enjoyable.
I would recommend against delivery by email due to the fact that email can get delayed or even trashed and so your customer may be waiting for their ebook to turn up in an email that never arrives.
I have a free course I put together recently that will show you exactly how to research, write and publish an ebook if you like. See the link just below…
