Can I sell a fiction book I wrote on Itunes as a downloadable ebook? and how would I do that?

Posted Tuesday, September 22, 2009 by admin

I wrote a book that I would like to sell as an ebook, (fiction) and I am wondering if it is possible to go without a publisher or any representation and just start selling it and making money for my work done. Is that possible? And what would be the best place to do it cost free, with the biggest audience available? :) thanks.

Probably not without investing a significant amount of money in advertising and promotion. Otherwise nobody is going to know it is there. Most people I have known who have tried e books have not even come close to breaking even. You cannot expect someone to allow you to do it cost free and allow you to make money for it, can you? Isn’t that a little selfish? Nothing in life is free. If you want to make money, as they say, you have to pay the piper. In this case, the site hosting your work. Then you have to pay for advertising so people will know about you and your work and go to purchase it. But I can tell you this. 1) Most adults do not purchase e books. 2) Most kids who download books don’t have credit cards and do it for free. So the market isn’t that promising. Pax-C
