i was told about the kindle 2, but that price is to much for me. is there anything else out thats cheaper and stil able to hold large amounts of ebooks?

Will you consider Kindle 1? It is much cheaper now since the launch of Kindle 2, seems to be around $250 (you better check the offer list). Below is a good comparison of the two versions of Kindle, both have the Pros and Cons.
