PDF Creation Software?

Posted Sunday, December 27, 2009 by admin

Hi there. What free PDF creation software do you recommend? I scanned a book as bitmap/bmp picture files and would like to turn it into a pdf ebook. Any recommendations welcomed. Thanks! :)

I would suggest printing things as PDFs using PrimoPDF. Alternatively, use your scanning software to send items to Adobe Reader and save them once you view them.

    Try open Office
It is like Microsoft Office but it lets you save as PDF file.

I have successfully created several ebooks by putting the text into OpenOffice’s word processor and then exporting it as a PDF.

Download the 2 step version, it is free and installs like a printer, so it can be used from any program that has print capabilities.

There is CutePDF and PDF995. Both of these are print drivers. You start with any program, word processor, spreadsheet, and print selecting say PDF995 as the printer. The pdf file is then created and opened by Reader. It can be then saved from Reader. The file created by the parent program, say the word processor, should be saved as a word processor file. All editing is done with the parent program.
