portable Ebook reader recommendations?

I love the idea of a portable ebook reader but am not whether they are practical.
I am hoping for some people to give me a little information about their ebook readers, perhaps what features you like about it & whether you would recommend it. Is it durable? Is it easy to navigate?
I would really appreciate anything!
