I’m going to self-publish some non-fictional books. Should I make them available in print only, or ebook?

I’d say make them available in both. The more exposure, the better. I’m sure you’ve copyrighted them already? It’s very important to do so online. According to the international Berne Convention, You’ve got it copyrighted for life + 50 years afterwards. I’m facing some issues concerning copyrighting myself, and I just make sure everything protected if it’s gotta be online.
I haven’t bought any ebooks, but I’ve read free ones. I prefer the real thing, but I think there’s definitely a big market for ebooks as well. Plus you can provide the ebook for cheaper since you’re self-publishing, and you get more profit that way.
I think it depends on what kind of non-fiction you’re talking about. If it’s something along the lines of a biography or a historical account, having it only available as an e-book probably wouldn’t make much difference. If it’s something instructional, people would probably much rather have a solid print copy in front of them that’s more portable and easier to handle, make notes in, etc.
I wrote and published two books. I reccomend print only. I have only sold one e book in three years. I have sold about seven print through the net and only because friends bought them. I have had three publishers (printers) and reccomend the last one. They charge no up front set up charges as the others do. Good quality too. Victoria Bindery in Vancouver, BC, Can. Any more info needed I’ve been through the grinder and willing to give you my help for free.
