Any credible, reliable and affordable Editors to edit and or proof read my book?

Posted Monday, February 22, 2010 by admin

I need an Editor to edit a book of about 62,000 words that I am about publishing. The truth is i have meagre resources and I intend self publishing.
I would also appreciate some useful advice on utilizing the Create Space self publishing program on Amazon please. What I wanna know is if I could, while utilizing this program, sell my books on my own website besides amazon E Stores, or use other means of distribution.

I’m just a high school student, but I’m really good with words. I’m not a professional editor, but I would be happy to read through and edit your story for free. However, I’d like to know what the story is about first… I’m a somewhat picky reader…

you can YIM me to get my e-mail address if you want to choose me.

If you have limited resources, you will not be able to afford a professional editor. They can be expensive (several hundred to several thousand dollars). You need be able to correct as many grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors on your own. There are at least seven errors in your post (do you know what they are? If not, take the time to learn more, let your word processor’s grammar and spell check help you, or hire an english major to do it).

Don’t expect very many sales through self publishing. There is a reason self publishing has a poor reputation in the industry.

If you have decided to definitely go down the self-publishing route, then it will be very expensive to have your book professionally edited. What I would suggest is that you get a few friends to read it and give you their feedback. There are some self-publishing companies that offer an editorial service, but I don’t know how much they would charge. Authorhouse is one organisation that offers this so you could check them out.
