Is there a program that protects ebooks or other digital products from being copied ?

Posted Monday, March 1, 2010 by admin

Ive got 3 really good e-books that I’m going to be selling, but my fear is that someone will buy my book, and resell it at a much lower price. Is there a program or service that can protect my e-books and or digital media from being copied?

what formats are the ebooks? pdf?

look into DRM (digital rights management)

and maybe put a password on the pdf files

Program? No – DRM is a joke.

    Service? Yes -

As a million selling ebook publisher, I can tell you that people stealing or copying your work is not so much of consideration when you are making money.

However, you do want to be careful not to create a pdf without a password, as the contents of a non-secure pdf can be browsed online for free, once anyone posts your work online.

I’d suggest adding a password to your pdfs, but otherwise you’re good.

I’ll add the source for this tip. Thanks.
