How can you convert PDF files into an ebook?

Posted Sunday, March 7, 2010 by admin

I’ve got several files from my divorce paperwork that are scanned as PDF files, but I want to combine them into one easy to read ebook. How can I do it? Something simple since I use a MAC.

Try something like YUDU,. It’s a FREE website that let’s you turn PDF, OpenOffice and Word files into ebooks. It lets you choose the privacy settings (Public, Private, Protected). You will have to make an account, but it’s the easiest way to convert a PDF to an ebook I know. And since it’s online, it’ll work with Windows, Mac or Linux. YUDU is also REALLY easy to use.

Scanned PDFs don’t have text; they’re just images. If you want to be able to search them, or copy-paste the text from them, you’ll need an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) program. Most of it’s not free. has one link to freeware, and several to demos & other paid programs.
