Is there any way your computer can read e-books to you with a program?

I am learning disabled and have trouble recalling what I read and have to reread it three or four times to remember. I was wondering if there was a particular program or piece of hardware I could buy or download for free that would read e-books? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you and God bless you!

How do I become an ebook vendor?

What are your favorite books?

I’m looking for books to read, but I don’t have access to everything.

They need to be either-

Published before 1920

Something my college library would have. They only have books that are meant to be literature, they don’t have fluffy best sellers or young adult.

Or on the New York Public Library’s ebook site.
