How do I become an ebook vendor?

I want to start a website selling different kinds of ebook novels online and I am not sure what the process is to make this happen. Any insight or links that can lead me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

That’s a tough market. I give away free eBooks that can be downloaded, and I advertise them as FREE, yet not many people seem to want them. I also have an Amazon.com account and I post books for sale that are relevant to the subjects of my many websites. No sales so far and it’s been 3 months since I’ve built those sites.
The first thing you must realize is that your new website won’t even be listed in the search engines for many months… especially if you don’t know how to SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZE your website. I have above average knowledge on how to do this but it is still a time issue. You have no control how or when Google or other engines will index your site. There are many ways that help speed up this process but it is far beyond the scope of this response. I’ve been learning it since 1996.
I agree with the previous person and have been selling my ebooks on 2 auction sites and have sold around 10 over the last year.
It is a tough market to get into but I have loads but am working on another project so have started to slow down on selling them.
Your best bet would be to try and sell them on an auction site, by selling them on an auction site I have just about broke even and that’s in about a year of trying to sell them and make some money.
Some of the ebooks I have explain how to set up an automated system so when someone buys one they can automatically start downloading it but in my opinion, if I had done that I would of still be seeing a loss that’s why when anyone has brought one from me I send them the ebook within 12 hours of them paying by email.
This has made me just about break even on them.
It might be hard but it is not definitely not impossible…Lot of people make good living selling eBooks…The first thing is you should sign up for a domain name and create a landing page and sell your ebooks on that site…Different domain names for different categories of ebooks is good…Create a good sales page…Sign up with paypal for your payments…Optimise the page and get traffic…You can also sign up with Clickbank…
