    There a lot of places on-line, not sure about e-books. Start here;
    This is Motley Fool and you will need to sign-up I think. But, a person starting out should learn something here as there is a lot of information.

    If you ask these questions, my recommendation is to read a few books on investment also. I highly recommend the Suze Orman series.

    Start slow and conservative to ease your way into the market first: e.g. with mutual funds. Then once you are comfortable with that, you will/should learn more about individual stocks and dive right in :-) .

    First book to read is “Getting Started in Stocks”. Classic book that is very easy to understand and it will give you a lot of information. When to buy and sell is part of your investment strategy. You may want to decide yourself, but 24 Essential Lessons for Investment Success by william o’niel will give you a great overview of what you should be looking for and how to start to look at charts. “The Warren Buffet Way” was a good read as well. You will have to read a variety of sources to decide how you want to invest. No analyst or strategy is always right or wrong.
