Is there any way I can make an e-book open with what I want to open it with, say MS Word?

I bought an e-book, and it has a lot of useful information, and I want to be able to copy bits of it into notes that I am making on OneNote. However the e-book doesnt allow you the function of opening it with the program you want it to. Is there anyway of doing this? Where is the e-book stored on your computer? Is the little icon, a link to it’s source online. Help, I am new to e-book-ing?

eBooks are made to be opened in the program they were created for, not any program you want.

What is the format (look at the file extension)? PDF? Then you can use Acrobat Reader or Foxit to open and copy text.

If it’s a proprietary format, check the company that makes the software to read it for support on what you need to do.
