What are the differences between the iPod Touch 3G and 2G?

Posted Saturday, May 22, 2010 by admin

I’m in the market to buy a PMP, and I’ve narrowed it to the iPod Touch because of the screen size (mainly). I will mainly be using this for music (I have around 20GB), eBook, and Wi-Fi browsing. I have never used tunes, and I’ve never owned a dedicated PMP, let alone an iPod. I have my eye on the 32GB, but I’m not sure whether to get the 2G or 3G. What are the differences? I was going to get a refurbished 2G, is the 3G worth the price difference?

Suggestions for other PMPs are alright as well, if you genuinely think they’re better suited to my uses.
I meant iTunes, sorry about that.

I have the 2G and It’s great. But the 3G has all of the same features plus some really good ones, so I would say geth the 3G. But I don’t know how much it costs, so go with what your budget can afford.

The main difference is the speed (faster processor and more RAM), and the included headphones + mic with voiceover.

I would recommend buying the 3G, since it’s only $50 more. If you really need to save your cash, the refurbished 2G would be fine, but it’s worth the extra, in my opinion.

I can’t think of any other PMPs that would be better than an iPod Touch. The Zune HD has some nice features, but the iPod Touch’s web browsing is SO much better. The App store really gives it an advantage, as well.
