Replacing a battery for Rocket ebook or any other unmarked rechargeable battery?
Posted Saturday, June 19, 2010 by admin
The battery on my Rocket ebook has no identifying mark, but I have the charger. Is there something on the charger that will help me order a new battery? How can I properly identify the battery? Where to order?

You need to measure the physical size of the battery and count the number of cells., or just do an internet search for replacement batteries for the Rocket ebook reader. You can also have a place like Batteries Plus rebuild the battery pack with new cells, but chec the price first.
You can’t go by the adapter voltage, because it is higher than the battery voltage to power the charging circuit. Most rechargable cells produce 1.2 to 1.25 volts and a battery pak will have multiple cells to produce a higher voltage. The chargers for my ebook readers are 12 volt, so the batteries are somewhere between 5 and 10 volts.

I think this website will tell you everything you need.
If your reader is a GEB2150 then your battery is a
Manufacturer: RCA/GE Model: 1200-2150-BAT
I hope this helps, but the cost of the battery may make you want to look at buying a newer reader instead.
