What is the best way to copyright an ebook?
Posted Tuesday, July 6, 2010 by admin
I want to copyright an ebook to hand out but I do not want anyone to use it as their own. What is the quickest or cheapest way to do this ?
If copyrighting is not the way to go… what about publishing? How/Where would i go to do so.

You can’t copyright it. No one is going to steal your writing. What makes you think anyone wants to?
If its your original material, then it’s copyrighted. It belongs to you.
Best way to show proof is to print 2 copies with the date on all of the pages. Keep one in your records and then mail the other through the post office. Make sure to keep the envelope sealed and the post mark now is proof you own you it.
There is no way to stop someone but you can always do a monthly check online to find out if someone copied it. Simply take 2 sentences from your book and search it in all the major search engines. If someone copied it to their site, it will come up and then you can contact them to remove it immediately and if not, you can go after them legally if they do not remove it.
Make sure to add a page to your e-book in the front that clearly states you are the owner and no one is to copy or redistribute the ebook without your written permission.
If you’re going to pass the book out online, purchase a program that will prevent people from sharing it. Just do a search online to find one.
