I can recommend Amazing List Machine (ebok) by Paul Myers actually. But it’s not really for beginners. Other than that, check out Aweber.com for resources or AutoresponsePlus.com

The best way to learn about list building is to follow those who are actively writing about it. I know Will Barden has been writing on his blog exactly how he has built his list to nearly 10,000 subscribers and I hope it can help you do the same
Theres nothing to pay so its not like you have anything to lose, quality content from those who are actually doing it will help you out the best.
When I was involved in it i used aweber to handle my subscribers and the code so that people could join my list!
