Ebook program

I downloaded the program Mobipocket Reader and downloaded an ebook from my local library (in ebook Mobipocket format) and I also downloaded Adobe 7 and Adobe Digital Editions to re-incrypt the downloaded book to the correct format due to the DRM (and another ebook in Adobe format). Now when I try to transfer them to my Sony Digital Reader I get the messagee that “File has been transfered but it is not on my reader. Any suggestions? I need help! Thanks for your time. I have seen reviews for several ebook readers out there. What I want is something portable with a long or very long battery life. It also needs to be easy to read, not use the new e-ink technology, and have available a large enough library.
2 Devices Ive looked into: The Sony Reader and Ebookwise 1150.
Sony reader has good memory and a huge library. Its screen is poorly lit for nighttime reading and e-ink technology ***** when you are turning pages.
Ebookwise has a great battery life, very rugged and easy to read at nighttime. Its cons are small online library, small and expensive memory and rather hard to use interface.

i have a book and i want to make it into an ebook, i want to make a copy of the pages and put it on the computer, how do i do that? i don’t want to type it word for word!
