What is the best way to copyright an ebook?

I want to copyright an ebook to hand out but I do not want anyone to use it as their own. What is the quickest or cheapest way to do this ?
If copyrighting is not the way to go… what about publishing? How/Where would i go to do so.

I am a UK citizen, selling an ebook over UK webspace. But it says at http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ07d.html that anything being imported into the US (ie publications) needs to be registered with the Library of Congress or face a fine. I recently bought an ebook that just contained more ads then content and I wanted to request a refund. The website taht i bought it from said i needed to test all “tactics” first before i could get one but I think this is in violation of US law. Am i right?

but you can browse books/magazines for free at the local libraries and even bookstore like barnes and nobles, even if you wish to finish reading them, and certain local libraries allow you to keep a copy of ebook downloaded from their site provided you have a membership with them

But downloading any ebooks.magazines is just wrong?

Fraudulent bank charges?

My fiance and I have a joint bank account. We have ONE debit card, in his name. I keep track of all purchases made. I leave enough in the account to cover the bills, since that is the only thing we use the account for.

Well, last October, we received a charge for $4.95, which came out by surprise and I was charged a $17.43 overdraft fee. The charge listed a website, some online ebook website. I called the bank, and they told me to call the company. So I called the company (which is based it LA) and it was a message machine. I sent an email also. I never gave out any more information that my name and email address. They returned an email saying they have given me a refund, which they had. Also, my bank refunded the $17.43 overdraft charge. I emailed them back asking how they knew WHO and what ACCOUNT to refund-never got a reply.
Then I bought a gift off gamestop.com, and it automatically enrolled me in some “Reservation Reward” program for $12/montly. Surprise Charges!
I called Reservation Rewards and got it cancelled and a refund.

Then just a few days ago, I got another charge from a company listed as GAMMA, which provided a telephone number and was based in TX for $9.25. I searched up the number online, and called the number but everyone gets a messaging machine. It does not state the business or anything.
All of these were charged from the debit card (without a pin number needed).

What should I do?
I have several things that come out of my account monthly by automatic draft (like insurance and such). Would I call them to change it over to the new account?
But all of my auto charges come out within 3-8 days… could everything be changed over before then?

I wrote a study guide for a Sun java (programming) exam. I want to know is this book legal. Please feel kind to read this and provide an accurate answer for me.

Sun microsystems, the owner of the Java technology conducts several examinations in world wide as such as SCJP and SCWCD. There are many study guides are available for these examinations. But, there are no study guide currently available for the latest version of _____* exam. Because of this, it is very very hard to study for this exam. We have to read number of books, browse internet for so many web sites, to study for this examination. The exam content has a very large scale.

I wrote a study guide for this exam, by extracting contents from ebooks, web sites and some other several resources. I directly extracted some contents from more than 50 copywritten resources. However, I also added my own instructions too.

As those copywritten resources says, it is prohibit to extract their content and/or publish. How ever I did it, and maked my own study guide in pdf (ebook) format.

I know it is illegal. But, please feel kind to read the rest.

Now I have my study guide in pdf format. I can make a separate web site, only for this study guide, and allow anyone to download this pdf file for free. If I do it, my study guide will be the first and only study guide currently available for this ____* exam. I post this question before doing it!

I wrote this study guide to help others. I don’t wish to earn anything from it. My ambition with this ebook is to help other peoples those who are preparing for this exam. This is the only, only, and only purpose of writing this ebook.

Therefore I want to publish this ebook as I said above, even though it is an illegal task.

I added my name and country in this ebook. But I didn’t added my address or any other contact information. I mentioned in “preface”, that I extracted some content from other resources. Now my question is this. Under the above scenario, what will happen if I publish this book on a separate web site, as I mentioned above? My country is Sri Lanka, but I didn’t publish my contact info, so can they caught me for this in any way?

I also want to know, whether I’m doing a good job or bad job?

hey
i’m from country that dont have any copyright law. but i want to immigrate to another country that has copyright law. so i dont know about this. i downloaded alot of ebooks, softwares and music by peer2peer softwares. so are these things make me a trouble with copyright there? can you describe about this subject?
